BLUE HILL — Edward and Nancy Lynch of Salem, N.H., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Brooke Lynch to Torrey McDonald, both of Blue Hill. Torrey is the son of Dennis “Ray” and Susan Carter McDonald of Surry.
Brooke is a 2003 graduate of The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, Mass., a 2007 graduate of Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and graduated from the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine with a master’s degree in logistics. She is employed by Cianbro Corp. as a financial analyst. Torrey is a 1997 graduate of Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth and a 2001 cum laude graduate of Maine Maritime Academy in Castine with a Bachelor of Science degree in marine systems engineering. He completed Regiment of Midshipmen Training and U.S. Coast Guard 3rd Assistant Engineer License. Torrey is a Seadrill Americas – engine room operator aboard the drill ship West Polaris, drilling exploratory oil wells of the coast of Brazil.
The couple met in September of 2009 while working for Cianbro Corp. in Brewer. After two blissful years together the groom proposed while on vacation in San Antonio, Texas. The couple plans to wed in the late summer of 2012.
