Bar Harbor’s Bed Races enter sixth year

Team Beachbums races down Cottage Street during the sixth annual Bed Races in Bar Harbor Saturday morning. Each team has five members and one has to stay on the bed during the race, while the others propel the contraption. Ten teams participated in the race this year. It was organized by the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce as a lighthearted closing event of the Early Bird Pajama Sale. Team Wicked Whippers won the race, setting a new course record of 32.75 seconds.

Although the MDI Biological Lab's Eel Grass Chariot struggled with technical difficulties, the team won bragging rights just like the other teams during the sixth annual Bed Races in Bar Harbor Saturday morning.

The College of the Atlantic's team Wheels on Fire compete in the sixth annual Bed Races in Bar Harbor Saturday morning. As the Early Bird Pajama Sale comes to a close, hundreds of people come from the shops around town to watch the event.

The band took part in the 6th annual Bed Races in Bar Harbor Saturday.  Although they lost a wheel, the team finished and kept playing music while on the race course.
