We all have to eat, so why not make it fun. Each month we will feature a different ingredient and ask you to send us your favorite and best recipes that use the selected food item. In September, we want your pumpkin recipes. Think pies, salads, torte, bread, appetizers– if it has pumpkin in it, we want you to send it.

Official Rules:

1. HOW TO ENTER: Enter by submitting a recipe in your BDN Maine Cookbook. All entries for our “Recipe Contest” contest must be received by 11:59pm on the last day of each month to be eligible for that month’s contest. There is no limit on the number of eligible entries that may be submitted per person per month. The monthly recipe contest winner will be posted on our around the 10th of the subsequent month, and contacted about their prize by that time.

2. PRIZE: The winning entry will receive a prize which varies by month. Winner will be notified about their prize and providing either shipping address or making arrangements to pick up their prize. If prize is not claimed or arrangements are not made within 30 days of date of contact, winner waives the right to said prize and waives any right to hold BDN Maine/Bangor Daily News liable.

3. ELIGIBILITY: Recipe Contest is open to residents of the United States, its commonwealths, territories, and possessions, 18 years of age and older except employees of BDN Maine/Bangor Daily News, their parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries and agencies.

4. GENERAL: No responsibility is assumed for problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software failure of any e-mail entry to be received by BDN Maine because of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, as well as lost, misdirected illegible or late entries which for any reason are not received by the judges.

“Entry” is defined by submitting a recipe and photograph of dish described in the recipe. By submitting an entry, Entrant promises that the recipe is his/her original work and gives BDN Maine his/her permission to feature his/her name, hometown, recipe, and photograph submitted on the website and any media and/or print material at BDN Maine’s will and disposition.

Winner consents to use his/her name and likeness, as well as winning recipe accompanied by photograph, for publicity purposes without additional compensation except where prohibited by law. Entrant is responsible for all on-line charges incurred by Internet Service Provider. Federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Entrant acknowledges that BDN Maine/Bangor Daily News shall retain rights to publish the Recipe and photograph online and in any print media. Moreover, Entrant acknowledges that BDN Maine/Bangor Daily News may authorize use of Winner’s name and likeness, recipe, and photograph in connection with the contest and in promoting, advertising, and publicizing its website, programs and information products and services. In the event any complaint or claim relating to the recipe is made by any third party at any time, whether a formal legal complaint or otherwise, Entrant promises that he/she will fully indemnify BDN Maine/Bangor Daily News for the defense of complaint or claim and will cooperate with BDN Maine/Bangor Daily News in the defense of the claim. BDN Maine/Bangor Daily News reserves the right to terminate “Recipe Contest”contest at any time. Rules subject to change without notice.
