Yes on 1 Campaign launches volunteer push

PORTLAND, Maine — Hundreds of volunteers will help Mainers United for Marriage have 6,000 one-on-one conversations with Maine voters during a Weekend of Action on Saturday and Sunday.

 During the Weekend of Action, volunteers will talk to their families, friends and neighbors about why marriage matters to all loving, committed couples and why it’s important to vote “Yes” on Question 1 in November.

Campaign activities are planned around the state, including in: Augusta, Brewer, Ellsworth, Farmington, Lewiston, Milbridge, Newcastle, Orono, Portland, Presque Isle, Rockland and Waldoboro.

In addition, Mainers United coalition partners, the Religious Coalition Against Discrimination and Catholics for Marriage Equality are holding a Sabbath Weekend. More than 75 congregations will participate in activities to the discuss diverse religious traditions that support the freedom to marry.

Campaign bumper stickers, t-shirts and hats are available at Lawn signs are available at campaign offices around the state.
