BANGOR, Maine — The Rudman Winchel, Bangor Region Chamber House and Senate debates this week will be televised by WVII Fox 22 in Bangor and will be moderated by a reporter from the Bangor Daily News
In the first forum, Democratic U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud and Republican Maine Senate President Kevin Raye will meet at a luncheon debate 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Four Points Sheraton in Bangor. Doors for that event will open at noon.
The second forum will bring together candidates for U.S. Senate in Maine 6:30-8 p.m. at the Gracie Theatre on the Husson University campus. It will be preceded by an executive reception at 5:30 p.m., sponsored by Bonney Staffing, which will be open to the candidates and corporate officers and business owners from the Bangor Region.
The three front-runners in that race, Democratic State Sen. Cynthia Dill, former independent Gov. Angus King and Republican Secretary of State Charles Summers, will attend along with two other candidates on the ballot, Andrew Ian Dodge and Steve Woods.
Both debates will be moderated by Whit Richardson, business reporter with the Bangor Daily News.
Tickets to the debates are free and can be obtained from the Chamber. There may also be a limited number of tickets available at the door. Lunch is optional for the 2nd District congressional event and is available at a cost of $20. Those wishing to have lunch are encouraged to register in advance through the Chamber.
