In celebration of Winter Harbor Music Festival’s 5th anniversary season, faculty and participants will offer an evening of celebrated concert literature and a U.S. premiere.
The concert will feature Downeast Maine’s own Grammy award winning pianist, Paul Sullivan, the U.S. premiere of Elliot Schwartz’s Trio for Flute, Viola and Percussion 2012 (with Deirdre McArdle Manning, Anatole Wieck and Nathaniel Hackworth); and Carol Wincenc, regarded as one of today’s international stars of the flute; noted cellist Evangeline Benedetti, The Silver Duo, Gena Raps, pianist and Peter Thoresen, countertenor.
WHMF’s 5th anniversary season also features the return of the 4th annual Winter Harbor Music Festival Summer Sing (August 16th at 7:30p.m. Hammond Hall, 427 Main Street, Winter Harbor), where members of the community are invited to sing or just listen to Haydn’s Creation. About Winter Harbor Music Festival: The mission of Winter Harbor Music Festival is to bring together musicians of different ages and stages, with world-class artists, in performance, amidst the beauty of Downeast Coastal Maine.
