Washington Bicentennial 5K Challenge and Fun Run on Aug. 3

The Washington 5K run and 1 mile fun run is being held this year on August 3 in conjunction with the Washington Gibbs Library 20th Anniversary. The races start at 8 a.m. with registration starting at 7 a.m. at the Prescott Memorial School, 100 Waldoboro Road, Washington.

The 5K race starts at Prescott Memorial School and goes through the village of Washington, up the Bill Luce Road and back. This is a challenging course. The fun run starts at Prescott Memorial School and goes down to the village around the monument and back to the school.

Medals will be given to winners in all age, male, and female categories in the 5K and to the first 3 finishers in the fun run. The entry fee of $15 for the 5k, $10 for the Fun Race ($30 maximum per family).

Entry fee includes a t-shirt (until they are gone). A raffle will be held following the race.

A portion of the proceeds from the race will benefit the Washington Community Scholarship Fund.
