Using Data to Drive Impact Symposium on May 8

PORTLAND, Maine – Common Good Ventures, Know Technology, and Bernstein Shur present a symposium for nonprofit organizations on Using Data to Drive Impact with support from the Bank of Maine, Wednesday, May 8 at Bernstein Shur, 100 Middle Street, Portland, ME 04101, from 8:15am to noon.

Nonprofit attendees will learn how to best leverage data to support strategy and operations, from best management practices to the infrastructure needed for data security and compliance. The event is recommended for Executive Directors, CEO/CFO/CIO/COOs, and program or senior managers, and will feature a mix of presentations and interactive exercises.

As technology advances and business practices evolve, data is increasingly important to building sustainable models to impact social issues. Relevant, reliable data can inform both strategy and managing operations. However, nonprofits face unique challenges to investing in technology and processes to track, store, and use data, as resources are increasingly scarce.

The symposium agenda will include networking opportunities, as well as:

• Frameworks for using data towards social impact

• Approaches to creating and maintaining the infrastructure needed to leverage data

• Best practices in security and compliance

The symposium is free, with limited seating- participants need to register by April 30. A light breakfast is included. To register for this event http://www.knowtechnology.net/non-profit-symposium/
