USCG Auxiliary to provide Safe Boating Course

Local officers of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer Boating Skills and Seamanship classes at Bangor High School on Mondays and Wednesdays for twelve weeks beginning January 27th and ending March 12th. Classes will run from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. The cost of the course is $40, which includes the textbook. Additional family members may attend and share the textbook for $5.00. Class will not be held during school vaccation or snow days. The course includes: Equipping Your Boat, Trailering, VHF Radio use, Introduction to Navigation; Paddle Smart; Lines & Knots, and Weather. Skippers, spouses and older teenage children are encouraged to attend to improve their boating knowledge and skills when on the water.
