CASTINE, Maine — Maine humorist and renowned storyteller Tim Sample is coming to Castine to kick off the Storytelling by the Sea festival at 1 p.m. on Aug. 16, as are a host of other storytellers including John MacDonald, Jennifer Armstrong, Frank Gotwals, Oscar Mokeme and many more.
There will be something for everyone, including ASL interpreters for the hearing impaired, and a workshop on how to tell a great tale. The festival runs Aug. 16-18. Tickets are $10 for adults per day or $18 for a weekend pass. Kids under 12 can attend for $5 per day or $8 for a weekend pass.
Advance tickets may be purchased from the Wilson Museum and the Witherle Memorial Library in Castine. In addition to great storytelling there will be food, vendors and even a pie auction.
