ROCKLAND, Maine – At a recent board meeting, the directors of the Maine Lobster Festival have voted on the 2013 theme, “LOBSTER ART! Paint it! Sing it! Sculpt it! Draw it!” Get artsy this year and create something amazing to celebrate lobster in Rockland. The theme will be featured in the annual Maine Lobster Festival’s Big Parade, as well as the Fine Art Tent, The Children’s Parade, and many more events.
The Maine Lobster Festival is also proud to announce that the 2013 grand marshal will be longtime volunteer, Mike Miller. For many years, festival goers best knew Mike as King Neptune, but this year Mike will take on a different role and allow someone else to carry the trident.
The Big Parade will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. Groups and organizations interested in participating in the parade may download an application at www.mainelobsterfestival.com/contact or request an application by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The Maine Lobster Festival Committee is excited to see the Lobster Art that participants come up with this year! There is no fee for participating in the Big Parade.
The 66th annual Maine Lobster Festival will take place Wednesday, July 3, through Sunday, Aug. 4. For the most up-to-date information about the Maine Lobster Festival, visit http://www.mainelobsterfestival.com/ or visit them on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/mainelobsterfestival.
