BANGOR, Maine — The Eastern Maine Walk to End Alzheimer’s planning committee will spend 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 21, honoring caregivers by sponsoring The Longest Day of Making Whoopie Pies.
Members of the Walk committee will be at the kitchen of People’s United Bank on Main Street in Bangor creating their confections. “Caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s know all too well about long days and this is one way we can recognize them,” said Kristie Miner, co-chair of the Eastern Maine Walk to End Alzheimer’s. “We’re fortunate to have an active and motivated committee made up of healthcare professionals, bankers, financial advisers and retailers that support the Alzheimer’s Association and bring our community the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.”
The whoopie pies will be at the Whoopie Pie Festival in Dover-Foxcroft on Saturday, June 22. Stop by the Walk booth, meet the planning committee, learn more about the resources of the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, register for this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s to be held on Saturday, October 5, in Bangor. And don’t forget to pick up your whoopie pie.
