BLUE HILL, Maine — Omar Conteh, Outreach Coordinator for the Islamic Center of Maine in Orono, will present a talk, “The Islamic Faith: A Faith of Peace,” at the Blue Hill Public Library on Thursday June 6th, 7:00 PM. He will cover aspects of the history and background of the Islamic religion, including the “pillars and articles of faith” that the religion is built upon. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
The purpose of the Islamic Center of Maine’s outreach effort is to help the people of northern Maine understand that Islam does not promote violence.
