Press Release

Summer Reading at Jackson Memorial Library

JACKSON, Maine — Are you ready for summer at the Jackson Memorial Library? We’re excited to offer a wide range of programs for all ages in our new building at 71 Main St. As always, we’ll offer the Summer Reading program for all children, whether they read independently or with help. You’ll get prizes after reading for 4, 8, 12 and 16 hours. After that, you’ll get additional entries in our grand prize drawing! Be on the lookout for our badge program, which will offer special rewards for attending programs and participating in summer reading.

We will have a different program each weekday, so be sure to check out the Facebook page and website for the most up-to-date information. Weekly Programs include Garden Dwellers with Hannah every Wednesday at 1, Story Time every Friday at 11, Robotics with Stuart for those entering grades 6 and up on Thursday afternoons (pre-registration is required) and Video Making and Minecraft with Sam (also aimed at those entering grades 6 and up) on Friday afternoons.

Summer Reading begins on June 15 during our farewell to the library party from 10 a.m. until noon. The library then closes for two weeks, reopening on June 29. On July 1 from 3-6 p.m. there will be a scavenger hunt for kids to help get them familiar with the new building.
