Aureole is a realistic fiction novel set in the Upper East Side of New York City. It follows Jess Carleton and her life among the wealthy Bishop family, focusing primarily on the difference made in their lives by the scheming Christenson siblings. Everything that quiet, unassuming Jess has known over ten years of living with the Bishops changes once the Christensons move into their building, and she must decide what to do or lose everything she has come to treasure.
Mitchell is currently a senior at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., where she majors in Secondary Education and English. She plans to pursue a career in writing as well as teaching. Aureole is her first book.
