ROCKLAND, Maine — The Lobster Library at SOMEWHERE on Winter St., one of Rockland’s new art galleries, is a collaboration with artist Orlando Johnson, for which the gallery will donate 50 percent of sales to town libraries of islands in Penobscot Bay (Isle au Haut, Islesboro, Monhegan, North Haven, Swan’s Island & Vinalhaven).
The initiative will see the gallery make a small contribution to a vital local community resource, whilst presenting the iconic and internationally known work of Orlando Johnson to collectors at an highly accessible level.
Newly in Rockland in the summer of 2012, the artist’s connection to Midcoast Maine is North Haven.
SOMEWHERE on Winter St. is located at 21 Winter Street in Rockland, and is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.
