Sebasticook Family Doctors named “Champion for Coverage” by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

NEWPORT, Maine — Sebasticook Family Doctors has been recognized as a Champion for Coverage by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. As a Champion, they have volunteered to help uninsured Americans learn more about the Health Insurance Marketplace.

As a Champion for Coverage, S.F.D. will leverage publicly available Marketplace materials – both digital and in print – to help members of the community understand their new options through the Marketplace.

On Oct. 1, the new health insurance marketplace opened in an extraordinary effort to provide health insurance to millions of un-insured and under-insured Americans. Sebasticook Family Doctors is pleased to announce that we are here to provide education and assistance to both patients and non-patients in the Newport, Dover, Dexter, Canaan, and Pittsfield areas. Please Contact Matthew Lang, Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator at 355-3554 for education or assistance. Sebasticook Family Doctors is committed to providing a clear path to a healthy lifestyle and are here to serve those in need.

“Champion organizations, like Sebasticook Family Doctors, are already serving people and are a trusted source of information in communities across the country,” said Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Director of Communications Julie Bataille. “These organizations are natural places for people to learn about the Marketplace, and we want to make sure that they have access to the tools and information to respond to people who want to sign up and enroll for coverage.”
