AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine State Credit Union today announced that twenty high school seniors will be chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship through their annual scholarship contest.
The recipient must be a primary member of the credit union and a graduating senior who will be pursuing secondary education. Students must complete an application including an essay outlining what education means to their financial future and a letter of recommendation. Applications must be received by April 12, 2013. Applications will be reviewed and recipients will be selected by the Maine State Credit Union Scholarship Committee.
“We have been so pleased in previous years with the response from the students in our community and their interest in the scholarship program,” said Mary Dolan, director of marketing and training for Maine State Credit Union. “The scholarship recipients were enthusiastic and thoughtful in their responses and showed great insight into the importance of education to their future.”
