DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine —  USDA Rural Development and the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) will hold a HUBZone meeting at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Penquis Higher Education Center, 50 Mayo Street.

The HUBZone stands for Historically Underserved Business Zones (HUBZone), and the meeting is at no cost to small businesses who want to learn more about how they can obtain SBA HUBZone certification to gain access to federal contracts. The federal government has a goal of awarding 3 percent of all dollars for federal prime and sub contracts to HUBZone-certified small business concerns.
