Rotary Club of Bangor names three Paul Harris Fellows

BANGOR, Maine —  Rotary Club of Bangor named WBRC Architects-Engineers’ President and CEO Stephen Rich, Earl Black and Arthur Comstock as Paul Harris Fellows at its annual awards luncheon June 18 in Bangor.

The Paul Harris Fellowship, named for Paul Harris, who founded Rotary with three business associates in Chicago in 1905, honors people who have demonstrated the Rotary ideal of service above self.

“Rich, Comstock and Black have demonstrated, in their commitment to our club activities and their community activities, a willingness to step up and lead in one or more of Rotary’s four avenues of service: club, vocational service, community and international,” said Scott Boucher, president of the Rotary Club of Bangor.

Rich was cited for his exceptional service as president from 2011 to 2012, in particular his leadership for renewing the club’s global focus.

“He was a key component to the sponsorship of Pure Water of the World, an initiative that provides wells, latrines and water education to families in Honduras,” said Boucher.

Rich has been a member of Rotary Club of Bangor since 1989. In that time he has served on several committees and boards. Rich also serves as a board member on the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, Maine State Chamber of Commerce, and Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems.
