Rosscare’s Lifeline Program transitions to LiveSAFE Response Service

BANGOR and PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Rosscare’s Lifeline Medical Alert Service program recently  transitioned to LiveSAFE Response Service.

Rosscare is proud that this service will be fully operated within Maine. LiveSAFE is a help button service developed by the members of EMHS (Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems). With the push of a button, calls will be answered within Maine by a central call center based at The Aroostook Medical Center, a member of the EMHS family.

LiveSAFE Response Service provides a one-button system in a subscriber’s home that dials an operator who ensures a quick response to any emergency. Operators for the service are available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year to provide assistance. If the call center operator determines emergency assistance is needed, an immediate call is made to local dispatch for fire, police, or ambulance.

LiveSAFE is not just for medical emergencies. The service is ideal for a variety of people including seniors, adults and children with disabilities, and those with short-term needs. Besides medical attention, some use LiveSAFE to summons help if they are alarmed about strange or disturbing noises, trespassers intruding or if they are nervous and need to speak with someone about their concerns. Clients can also answer their ringing phone by simply pressing their button, thus preventing a potential fall.
