Public Forum “Fiscal Cliff” held at Bangor library

BREWER, Maine — Maine Working families gathered on Dec. 10 at the Federal Building in Bangor for a candlelight event to keep pressure on Senators Snowe and Collins to say no to any cuts in benefits to Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security, and to end additional tax cuts to the richest 2 percent.

After the vigil, there was a public forum on the “fiscal cliff” at the Bangor Public Library. These activities were sponsored by the Eastern Maine Labor Council, Food AND Medicine and the Maine People’s Alliance.
