Prey honored with museum’s achievement award

New York’s Heckscher Museum Director Michael Schantz presents Barbara Ernst Prey with the museum’s Celebrate Achievement Award.

 

PORT CLYDE, Maine — Artist Barbara Ernst Prey was the honoree recently at  New York’s  Heckscher Museum of Art Celebrate Achievement Benefit Gala where she received the museum’s Celebrate Achievement Award  for her contributions to arts and culture on a global, national and local level.

Prey serves on the National Council on the Arts, the advisory body of the National Endowment for the Arts, she is an artistic ambassador for the State Department’s Arts in Embassies program, has executed commissioned work for NASA on four separate occasions, and was selected by President and Mrs. Bush to paint the official White House Christmas card.
