Penobscot Boys & Girls Club receives Payless Shoe grant

OLD TOWN, Maine — Past CPO Carla Knapp had secured a Payless grant before taking a national position with Boys & Girls Club of America. Interim CPO, Joseph Knapp is pleased to announce that the Penobscot Boys & Girls Club have been selected as an official partner of Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids, an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource. We are among the many charitable agencies representing all 50 states in the United States, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico and 11 Latin American countries.

On Jan. 20, 2014, Penobscot Boys & Girls Club staff, Board of Directors & volunteers will be distributing merchandise certificates for children’s shoes to Boys & Girls Club members of the Micmac Boys & Girls Club, Maliseet Boys & Girls Club, Sipayik Boys & Girls Club and Passamaquoddy Boys & Girls Club at the Bangor Mall Payless Store. We will be providing 100 children with a free pair of shoes of their choice.

In addition Interim CPO, Joseph Knapp has been able to secure a variety of Mattel toys through Boys & Girls Club/ Mattel Corp. collaborative efforts. BGC youth will not only receive a new pair of shoes but a new Mattel toy compliments of Boys & Girls Club of America & Mattel Corp.
