ROCKPORT, Maine — The Penobscot Bay YMCA Childcare Center recently was recognized as a silver level site of distinction from Let’s Go! 5-2-1-0 for implementing healthy eating and active living strategies into their childcare setting.
The award recognizes the hard work and dedication of the Pen Bay Y Childcare Center for increasing the health and well being of children in their care through the promotion of the Let’s Go! message for the past 2 years.
Let’s Go! Knox County, which is based at Pen Bay Healthcare, has collaborated with the Pen Bay YMCA and the Childcare Center on several occasions over the past year, including Healthy Kids Day and provided a countywide training for childcare providers.
Let’s Go! Knox County will partner with the Pen Bay YMCA for its open house 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20. The day off with the family friendly Pumpkin 5K Walk at 8:30 a.m. The event also will offer dance classes for all ages, gymnastics during open gym, information about childcare program and a bounce house.
