FORT KENT — The University of Maine at Fort Kent Student Nurses Organization will host a pediatric health fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 10, in the UMFK Sports Center.
The fair is for kindergarten to eighth grade students from Eagle Lake, Frenchville, Fort Kent, St. Francis, and Wallagrass elementary schools. The fair will help children see and understand the importance of health and nutrition in a fun and activity-filled way.
UMFK nursing students will be involved in booth setup for topics to include: nutrition, obesity prevention, physical activity, dental health, good hand-washing techniques, fire safety, to name a few.
Representatives from the Fort Kent Fire Department, the Maine Forest Rangers, Smokey Bear, a local dentist, and others will be onsite.
