UNITY, Maine — The Waldo County Trails Coalition will hold a hike beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, starting at the trail entrance in Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association’s field on Crosby Brook Road, next to Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm, and ending on Quaker Hill Road. The hike is more than 3 miles and should take from one to two hours. A shuttle at Quaker Hill Road will be available to transport people back to MOFGA at the end of the hike. Hikers may wade across a shallow part of Sandy Stream near the beginning of the hike, although it is possible to travel a short distance on Route 220 to get to the other side of the stream without getting wet. Sebasticook Regional Land Trust also has a paddle that day from 9 to 11 a.m. Contact Buck O’Herin at email@example.com or visit www.waldotrails.org.
