Old Town Principal Receives Special Recognition Award

OLD TOWN, Maine —  Dr. Jeanna Tuell, Principal at the Old Town Elementary School, will receive a Special Recognition Award from the New England Reading Association on Thursday, Sept. 27, in Nashua, N.H.

Honoring the professional work of its members and other professionals throughout New England, the NERA Executive Board began its Special Recognition Award in 1983.

Recognizing leaders, each state honors one person at the annual conference for his/her contributions to literacy and Maine’s representative is Jeanna Tuell.

Her literacy leadership has had an incredible impact on classroom teachers, support staff, pre-service teachers, and, of course, the students of Old Town Elementary School.
