AUGUSTA, Maine — Old Belgrade Road in Augusta will be closed to traffic from Thursday, July 18, through Tuesday, July 23.
As part of the Exit 113 construction project, crews will be installing twin 8-foot-diameter reinforced concrete pipe culverts. To perform this work safely, the closure is needed so workers can utilize the road width needed to complete the project.
A signed detour route for residents and businesses on Old Belgrade Road west of Stone Brook, including Maine General Medical Center, access will be from Route 27 (Civic Center Drive). For residents and businesses on Old Belgrade Road east of Stone Brook, access will be from Route 104.
The detour around the closed portion of Old Belgrade Road will consist of the following roads: Old Belgrade Road, Route 104, Townsend Road, Route 27 (Civic Center Drive) and Bog Road.
The closure will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, and reopen for traffic at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23.
Motorists should allow extra time and use caution when traveling through the work zones.
