COLUMBIA FALLS, Maine — Nashville recording artist Jason Sturgeon has been announced as the headlining artist for Down East Country Fest sponsored by Machias Savings Bank. The event will take place Saturday, July 21, at the Columbia Falls Gymnasium in Columbia Falls.
Caleb Paul, founder and promoter of Down East Country Fest, said, “It is rare that Down East Maine has the opportunity to welcome a music star of Jason Sturgeon’s caliber. We are honored that he will be headlining what will be an amazing evening of music.”
Also performing will be Boston’s Shannon Selig, who grew up in Maine and recently was named Maine’s “The Voice” by WCSH 6. Selig was named the 2011 Female Vocalist of the Year at the New England Country Music Awards.
Schenectady New York’s “Whiskey Project” also will perform.
Advance tickets start at $10 and is a bring-your-own-bottle event. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
