WINDSOR, Maine — Mid-Coast Energy Systems will be exhibiting at the 2013 Great Windsor Fair from August 25th through Sept. 2. Through its unique informative display, MCES representatives will share the many benefits of choosing geothermal to heat and cool a residence or business. They will demonstrate how the system works, how it is installed and provide a comparison of savings and efficiency between geothermal and conventional systems. Technological improvements have made geothermal installations significantly more efficient and considerably less invasive than before. Currently available statistics emphasize that savings in the long term far outweigh the cost of installation when compared to other fuel sources over the same time period, and the available tax credits are a large incentive. Consumers now understand that their monthly rates for use of conventional heating system such as an oil or propane furnace or boiler, remain constantly subject to increases at the whim of the fuel companies. Conversely, a geothermal system provides a renewable source of energy by using heat from the earth that is buried beneath the ground on the property which yields savings to the homeowner from the first day of use. Once the cost of the system has been paid off, the only monthly utility bill remaining is for the minor electricity required to run the heat pump.
