MADAWASKA, Maine — The Northern Aroostook County Marine Corps Reserve Motorcycle Ride will hold a Toys for Tots Ride at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept 2. Registration will take place 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1.
The 169-mile ride will start at the Madawaska Legion and travel through Frenchville, Fort Kent, Eagle Lake and Portage Lake. Lunch stop will be at Aroostook Fish and Game Club in Ashland. Afternoon travel will take riders through Mapletown, Presque Isle, Westfield and Easton with a stop at Boondocks in Fort Fairfield. Then its on to Limestone and Van Buren, and winding up at Bicentennial Park in Madawaska, where supper and live music will be offered.
The cost of the ride is $10.
On Monday, Sept. 3, riders will leave Madawaska for a short trip of 59 miles, traveling around Long Lake to Cross Lake and ending up at the Bicentennial Park in Madawaska. Winning raffle tickets for an 883 Sportster, $4,300 in cash and $150.00 cash will be drawn at 2 p.m.
Toys and-or donations will be picked up at each stop: Madawaska American Legion , Fort Kent American Legion, Eagle Lake American Legion, Portage Dean’s Restrauant in Portage Lake, Ashland Aroostook Fish and Game in Westfield, Mike’s IGA in Easton, Boondocks Restaurant in Fort Fairfield, Limestone Fire Station, Hospitality Inn in Van Buren, and Bicentennial Park in Madawaska.
