BANGOR, Maine — This holiday season, Manpower Maine is pleased to announce its participation in the American Red Cross “Holiday Mail for Heroes” program. Holiday greetings will be collected by Manpower Maine and delivered by the Red Cross to veterans, military families and active-duty service members around the world.
From Monday, Nov. 18, through Monday, Dec. 2, every Manpower office in Maine will have free cards available to send to soldiers and their families.
“Although it may seem like just a card, I can say, as a formerly deployed Army National Guard soldier, that there is something special about receiving a card from home around the Holidays,” said Joel R. Blackwell, SFC, Maine Army National Guard. “It lets you know that people other than your close family and friends appreciate what you are doing.”
Sgt. Blackwell added “A lot of people say they support our troops; Organizations such as Manpower give our citizens an opportunity to demonstrate their support.”
According to Manpower Maine’s Vice President, “Whether you are a Manpower associate, an applicant or simply a caring citizen, we invite you to visit any of our Manpower Maine offices, write your message on a card that we provide, and we will mail the card for you. Help us thank our heroes.”
