DEXTER and GUILFORD, Maine —Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 12 and running through Wednesday, Nov. 14, the Abbott Memorial Library will co-host with the Guilford Memorial Library a “Let’s Talk about it” discussion program titled: Making Sense of the American Civil War.
The series is designed as a succession of five conversations exploring different facets of the Civil War experience, informed by reading the words written or spoken by powerful voices from the past and present. Each session will explore a different topic.
Interested participants should contact either the library in Dexter at 207-924-7292 or the library in Guilford at 207-876-4547 to pick up copies of the books.
“Making Sense of the American Civil War” was created and funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of its We the People initiative, which promotes scholarship, teaching, and learning about American history and culture.
