SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Volunteers with the Maine Appalachian Trail Club, including MATC Kennebec District Overseer Craig Dickstein and MATC Trail Maintainers Ardie and Dave Hacker, Ed and Sherri Langlais and Margaret Snell will hold a public forum and tool demonstration to illustrate work the club volunteers perform to help maintain the trail.

These Maine Appalachian Trail Club volunteers protect and maintain 267 miles of the trail in Maine. At this session, to be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Strand Cinema, 19 Court St., Skowhegan, find out how to become a volunteer responsible for your own section of the trail.

The session is part of a series of events presented by the Friends of the Appalachian Trail in Maine, promoting and supporting the Maine Appalachian Trail Club. The Friends raise awareness of the volunteer trail work performed by the Maine Appalachian Trail Club and seek new members.
