Maine Women’s Network 2013 annual meeting, event June 5

CAMDEN, Maine — Maine Women’s Network cordially invites its members, guests, and the public to attend its sixth annual “Celebration of Amazing Women” statewide event hosted by Point Lookout Resort in Northport.

The featured keynote speaker and local celebrity Lynn Archer, owner/chef of two Midcoast restaurants, The Brass Compass Café and Archer’s On The Pier, is a prime example of the entrepreneurial spirit of Maine women. She not only runs two successful restaurants but also snagged a coveted spot on the Food Network’s Throw Down with Bobby Flay where she was pitted against Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay and won.

 The cost is $65 for members and $75 for non-members and includes an afternoon workshop from 2:15 to 3:45 p.m. to be followed by a 4 p.m. social hour,  networking exercises, an elegant buffet dinner, an awards ceremony and silent auction concluding at 7:30 pm. Participants will be able to meet and interact with fellow businesswomen from throughout the state and benefit from give-a-ways and door prizes. The afternoon’s “Learn and Share” workshop titled “Leading the Way with Vision, Determination, and Sense of Humor” allows female leaders to share perspectives on traits crucial to success in today’s world. This workshop is optional and includes other renowned speakers Susan Corbett, owner and CEO of Axiom Technologies in MachiasLaurie LaChance, president, Thomas College, Waterville; and Nancy Marshall, principal, Nancy Marshall Communications, Augusta.
