PORTLAND, Maine — Dr. Cindy Asbjornsen, Maine’s leading vein specialist, published an article in the March 2012 issue of Phlebology, the premier international journal of venous disease. The article titled “Middle cerebral air embolism after foam sclerotherapy” was co-authored by Drs. Benjamin Russell and Christopher Rogers.
Phlebology is the only English language journal devoted entirely to venous disease and is officially endorsed by the American College of Phlebology. The peer-reviewed journal publishes the results of high quality studies, reviews, and trials related to factors that may influence the outcome of patients with venous disease.
Dr. Asbjornsen is the founder of the Maine Phlebology Association and the Vein Healthcare Center in South Portland. She was one of the first phlebologists in Maine to become certified by the American Board of Phlebology. Additionally, she has specialty training from leading phlebologists in caring for all levels of venous disease, including spider veins, varicose veins and venous stasis ulcers.
