Maine Guides and Hunt of a Lifetime provides free moose hunt for double lung transplant

HANOVER, Maine — Joe Kruse, Registered Maine Guide and owner of Parlin Lake Lodge and Cabins, and Jeff Watts, Registered Maine Guide from Hanover, are providing a free guided hunt for Jamie Lapole of Maryland.

This hunt is being provided through the Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation, www.huntof, which provides free guided hunts to individuals under the age of 21 who have life threatening diseases. Kruse and Watts are both volunteers with the organization, which was started by Tina  Pattison who lost her son to cancer at a young age.

The state of Maine provides two moose permits every year. All expenses are paid for by the foundation including airfare, rental cars etc. The foundation is run on donations. Jamie is 19 years old and has had a double lung transplant; she will be accompanied by her father Roy Lapole who is an avid outdoorsman.

This hunt will take place in Zone 4 from Sept. 23-28. All parties will be staying at Parlin Lake Lodge and Cabins. For additional information contact Jeff Watts at 739-0107.
