Long-term care facilities receive excellence awards

BREWER, Maine — EMHS is announced that Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill, Ross Manor and Stillwater Health Care in Bangor, and Dexter Health Care in Dexter have received Celebrating Excellence Awards from the Maine Health Care Association. The recognition honors employees and facilities for excellence in caregiving, nursing and other disciplines, excellence in innovative programming, and excellence in quality awards.

These employees were honored with the Excellence in Caregiving Award:

* Nurse’s Aide Nicole Bartlett, Stillwater Health Care.

* Kathryn Hall, director of activities and volunteer services, Ross Manor.

* Hazel Harvey, housekeeper, Stillwater Health Care.

* Vicki Jackson, activities director, Aroostook Health Center.

Dexter Health Care received an Excellence in Quality Award for its work in reduction of pressure ulcers. The award is given to long-term care providers who make significant strides toward achieving and maintaining quality.

Stillwater Health Care received a National Quality Award from MCHA’s national organization, the American Health Care Association.

Winners will be recognized during the Celebrating Excellence Awards Luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 13, in Augusta.
