Library to host election roundtable discussions

BLUE HILL, Maine — The public is invited to two free roundtable discussions about the upcoming Nov. 6 presidential election 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, at the Blue Hill Public Library. The discussions are sponsored by the library and Colloquy Downeast.

Each roundtable will feature three panelists who will each make a brief presentation, then engage the audience in a discussion. All viewpoints are welcome but exchanges must be kept respectful.

The Oct. 24 discussion will focus on domestic policy with panelists Tom Bjorkman, Peter Sly and Tim Thomas

The discussion on Oct. 31 will be on foreign policy with Barbara Griffiths, Anne Sigmund and Courtnay Haight.

Panelists’ backgrounds include foreign service, legal, business and politics. Both discussions will be moderated by retired Brooklin professor Ronald J. P. Lesko.

Beginning its 11th year, Colloquy Downeast is a nonprofit volunteer organization offering a variety of topics for discussion and study, usually in the format of weekly seminars.

There is no charge to participate in the discussions, but registration is required. Register using the events calendar at www.bhpl.net or by calling the library at 207-374-5515.
