Lee Lingley Memorial Poker Run Set

Memorial Poker Run planned

Come one come all to the first Lee Lingley Memorial Poker Run, scheduled for June 2, 2013 from 9am to 3pm. The run is sponsored by The Dennysville ATV/ Snowmobile Club “Eastern Rail Riders” from our new club house now located in Dennysville. Lee was a pivotal member of the club for many years until his unexpected passing on October 1, 2012. Lee worked tirelessly to set up this club’s very first poker run years ago with the help of his beloved spouse Brenda Mitchell Lingley. In his memory we have set the course to be the same one Lee originally set that very first run.

There will be a dedication presentation at the start of the run at 9am, located at the Dennysville Station. Lee’s sons will be making a special trip back home to join their mother, this club and the rest of the pack for what Lee loved to do out on the beautiful trails of Down East Maine. We hope to see hundreds of ATV’s/side by sides for this wonderful tribute to a delightful man who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

You may play as many hands as you wish for only $5.00 each hand. A hand consists of 1 sealed playing card from 5 strategically placed boxes out on your trails. The object to play a hand is to ride to each box on your ATV, retrieve a card and return all 5 unopened envelopes to the finish line back at the Dennysville Station no later than 3pm to be revealed by the staff on hand. If any envelopes have been opened prior to official turn in or if you are missing cards, the hand will not be counted as legal. Rules & maps will be available at the starting point. Box locations will be as follows: (1) Ayers Junction (2) 14 Ridge Road (3) 105 intersection by southern inlet (4) off Marion Station Road (5) Big Pine on Sunken Stream Road.

The winner of the run will receive half of the money collected for the hand entry fee. We have had several very successful poker runs in the past few years and the winners are not the only ones leaving with a smile on their face. There will be a 50/50 raffle and our lunch caboose will be on hand for food and beverage purchases. This year we plan to have hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza and more refreshments available.

Looking forward to seeing all our friends and making new acquaintances on this very special day, knowing that Lee Lingley will be looking down upon the world smiling.
