STATEWIDE, Maine — The League of Women Voters Education Fund has produced its fifth Easy-to-Read Voter Guide and will distribute 25,000 copies across Maine through libraries, adult education programs, schools and social service agencies in the weeks leading up to Election Day on Nov. 6.
Written in easy-to-understand language, the 2012 Guide includes information on statewide ballot questions and profiles of candidates seeking federal office. The Guide is nonpartisan and does not promote any platform or position on the ballot questions or endorse or support any candidate. The bios and candidate positions are provided by the candidates themselves.
“We know from past experience that this guide is a highly-valued, free and nonpartisan resource for voters,” said Barbara McDade, president of the League of Women Voters of Maine Education Fund. “The League is a reliable and trustworthy source of voter information and services across the state and we are so pleased to continue to be able to provide this resource for Maine voters. And this year, we are excited to participate in www.vote411.org, which allows Maine voters to look up information about the 2012 election online.”
