BANGOR, Maine — The 2013 Penobscot County Bar Association Law Day Contest is accepting entries from students in ninth through 12th grades who are enrolled in a school in Penobscot County or are being homeschooled in Penobscot County at one of those grade levels.
Entries may be an essay or a poster on the topic: “One hundred and fifty years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation and nearly 50 years after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his ‘I Have a Dream Speech’ on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial has our nation succeeded or failed in its promise of equality for all? What more does it need to do? Or has it done too much?”
