Officers graduate from K-9 Patrol School

VASSALBORO, Maine —  The Maine Department of Corrections celebrated the graduation of three of its officers from the K-9 Patrol School at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro on Friday, June 8.

As part of the 27th class to graduate from the school, the Department honored Correctional Officer Kyle Sylvester and his dog, Gunner; Officer Joseph Salisbury and his dog, Tyson; and Officer Colt Sleaster with his dog, TJ. The graduation included a pinning ceremony and several demonstrations of their skill sets.

K-9 teams are a great asset to the Department of Corrections, providing an essential tool to the officers in performing their duties as well as a safer environment for the public.
