BANGOR, Maine — John Bapst erased an early 9-1 deficit by outscoring the Vikings 9-0 over the remainder of the first period to take a 10-9 lead in the teams’ mutual season opener on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Bangor Auditorium. The Crusaders scored the game’s final 11 points, holding Caribou scoreless over the final 3 1/2 minutes.
Freshman Hannah Philippon was the game’s high scorer with 12 points. Jordan Turner scored 8 of her 9 points in the fourth quarter to help John Bapst pull away. The Crusaders went 10 for 14 from the foul line in the fourth. Caribou’s high scorer was Rebecca McDougal with 8 points.
