Interview with Alfred “Joe” D’Amario

AROOSTOOK COUNTY, Maine — In July 2012, the Loring Remembers (www.loringremembers.com), a site dedicated to preserving the service of all who served at Loring Air Force Base, Maine, conducted an interview with Alfred “Joe” D’Amario.

Joe was a B-47/B-52 bomber pilot stationed at Loring AFB from 1964-1966, and has written several book’s about his career. We were very interested in documenting some of the highlight’s of his career, including his involvement in the infamous Thule, Greenland B-52 crash that ended the nuclear weapons alert program “Chrome Dome”.
