Inferfaith organization benefits from Main Street group’s efforts

ROCKLAND, Maine — In November Rockland Main Street Inc., a partnership of residents, businesses and local government, was made aware  of the need for turkeys for the Congregational Church and Area Interfaith Organization joint Thanksgiving baskets.

Rockland Main Street Inc. with board member Kathryn Alex at  the helm started on a mission to help fund the shortage with just $15 from businesses willing to help out. As a reuslt, 26 businesses and employees stepped forward making donations totaling $1,175.

During December,  22 downtown businesses will collect nonperishable food for AIO.
