PORTLAND, Maine — The Human Rights Campaign has contributed a $225,000 contribution to Mainers United for Marriage as part of its national campaign to support marriage equality.
The donation is part of a new $1 million investment in marriage campaigns in four states across the country. To date, HRC has contributed $7.3 million to legislative and electoral marriage issues in 2011-2012.
Mainers United for Marriage is the coalition to win marriage for all Maine families. A “Yes” vote in November will allow marriage licenses for loving, committed same-sex couples in Maine while also protecting religious freedom.
