ELLSWORTH, Maine Maine Coast Memorial Hospital will host two free community education forums and one full day of free mammograms during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
A Breast Cancer Seminar will take place 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, in the classroom at 50 Union St. with oncologist Dr. Philip Brooks and radiologist Dr. Brian Ewy discussing the latest updates in breast cancer and answering questions about breast cancer and the treatment options.
Lymphedema specialists Marie-France Browning and Charlotte Stephens will discuss the signs, symptoms and treatment of lymphedema and present a cancer exercise program that is beneficial during cancer treatments 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in the hospital classroom.
Maine Coast Memorial Hospital will offer free digital mammograms to 40 people 7:00 a.m.-7 p.m. by appointment Thursday, Oct. 25 . The screening will be conducted on a first called, first scheduled basis. Call 664-5492 to schedule a mammogram.
These offerings are free and open to the public and each event will include a door prize.
