BANGOR, Maine — Hope House which provides services to homeless people, has released its Winter Wish List of food, personal care, clothing and miscellaneous items the agency needs to make life a bit easier for those in need:
Condiments: Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, margarine, cooking oil, garlic powder, seasonings, ground coffee and tea.
Personal care: Razors, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo and tissues.
Food: Stuffing mix, gravy mix, nuts, pickles, olives, crackers, cheese, biscuit mix, eggs, fresh or canned fruit, fresh or canned vegetables, breakfast cereals and desserts.
Clothing: Sock, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, sweatshirts, warm underwear for men and women.
Miscellaneous: Towels, twin sheets, pillowcases, blankets, pillows, washcloths, hand sanitizer, oven mitts and bus passes.
Those who wish to donate items may do so 7 a.m.-8 p.m. seven days a week at facility at 179 Indiana Ave., Bangor.
Another way to help, Hope House officials said, is to take part in the Adopt A Resident program by providing items for a person who has ‘graduated’ from the shelter. For information, call Irene Leighton at 207-217-6713 to obtain a specific wish list of items.
